Wojciech Kałuża, Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship

Local government official, entrepreneur, social activist, politician. For many years he was involved in the affairs of the local community of the City of Żory. He gained experience in this field working as the Chairman of the Poviat Social Council for Persons with Disabilities in Żory and the Deputy President of the Volunteer Fire Department in Żory.

In 2005–2008 he was the director of the senatorial office of Maria Pańczyk-Poździa. In 2006, he obtained the mandate of a councilor of the Żory City Council. He took the positions of the Chairman of the Culture and Sport Committee and the Economic Development Committee. In 2008, he took the position of the Deputy Mayor of Żory. He held this function until 2014. He supervised the functioning of sports and culture units as well as entities dealing with matters related to social assistance and civil protection.

In 2018, he was elected to the Regional Councils of the Silesian Voivodeship. On November 21, 2018, he was elected the Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. As part of the division of tasks in the Board of the Voivodship, he was assigned competences related to the implementation of the Regional Operational Program in the field of the European Regional Development Fund. He is responsible for the efficient implementation of EU programs and projects, the effects of which are beneficial to the residents. By increasing the quality of life in the region, they contribute to the further sustainable development of the Silesian Voivodeship. He also carries out tasks in the field of economy, tourism and sport.
