Dr hab. Eng. Janusz Ćwiek, prof. Silesian University of Technology

A graduate of mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology. He obtained a doctorate in technical sciences in the discipline of construction and operation of machines in 1992 at the Gdańsk University of Technology, and a postdoctoral degree in materials engineering in 2007 at the Silesian University of Technology.

He started his professional career as an academic teacher in 1988 at the Gdańsk University of Technology.

In 2009-2016, he worked at the Institute of Engineering and Biomedical Materials of the Silesian University of Technology.

From 2014, he was involved in the organization of a new education course, Railway Transport at the Silesian University of Technology.

Since 2016, he has been working at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, where he is the Head of the Department of Rail Transport and the coordinator of the dual education course Transport Kolejowy.

Research interests focus primarily on materials used in rail transport and new technologies in means of transport.
