Arkadiusz Czech, Mayor of Tarnowskie Góry

Arkadiusz Czech since 2006 is mayor of Tarnowskie Góry. He graduated in technical physics at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and postgraduate studies in education management at the University of Economics in Katowice. For years, a physics teacher and deputy headmaster of the Secondary School No. S. Staszica in Tarnowskie Góry.

15 years of city management is a number of important investments, including: a modern sewage treatment plant with a sanitary sewage system throughout the city (PLN 300 million), a modern station and a completely replaced bus fleet, nearly 30 new sports and recreation facilities – including: a multifunctional hall sports, 72 new municipal apartments, revitalization of the city’s old town and covering the entire city with a spatial development plan, as well as thermal modernization of all educational buildings in the city, commencement of construction of a transfer center worth PLN 57 million with bicycle lanes, effective fight against smog through the implementation of the PONE program, modernization of municipal buildings and implementation of the program “Renewable energy sources to improve the quality of the natural environment”, which involves the installation of 1045 renewable energy installations in houses in Tarnowskie Góry in the form of photovoltaic cells, solar panels, biomass boilers, air heat pumps (PLN 20 million).
