Grupa Żywiec: Business development with respect for the community and the natural environment

Climate change brings with it risks to people’s health and the way they live and spend their free time, as well as risks related to the availability and prices of raw materials. Magdalena Brzezińska, corporate director of Grupa Żywiec, says how important it is for Grupa Żywiec to act in harmony with the natural environment.

Our responsibility is to develop business with respect for the community and the natural environment, so as to counteract negative climate changes. We want to minimize our impact on the climate, above all to reduce CO2 emissions, which are responsible for the increase in temperature around the world.

That is why our path of climate neutrality begins with ourselves and with Żywiec, the place where our company was founded. Currently, 100% of the electricity used to brew our beer comes from renewable sources. By 2030, we will reduce CO2 emissions in beer production by 70% using green heat.

Growing prices of black energy-based fuels, as well as rising prices of CO2 emission permits, make enterprises more and more willing to invest where green energy is available. Investments – public and private – in renewable energy sources will increasingly affect the competitiveness of Polish and Silesian entrepreneurs in the European Union.

The European Future Forum is a place for us to talk about these challenges with representatives of public administration, business and the world of science.
