With a complete number of guests, huge media interest, 88 partners and a wide range of attractive accompanying events – with such capital, on Wednesday, October 6 at the Silesian Stadium, the European Future Forum, a new event in the calendar of the largest social and economic events in Poland, starts.
Over 2.2 thousand guests will take part in the first edition of the European Future Forum (EFF), which will start on Wednesday, October 6 at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. The three-day event will be reported by over 150 journalists accredited for the event, initiated and hosted by Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.
Initiative of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship
– I believe that the European Future Forum will be an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and create solutions. The Silesian Voivodeship, as the European Region of Entrepreneurship, sets itself ambitious goals in the field of economy and modern technologies. We look boldly to the future as we prepare for transformation. We are facing challenges that will define our place in the changing global reality. Decisions on the liquidation of the mining industry mean that we are faced with the need to redefine the region’s economy. We want Silesia to be one of the leaders of these changes – comments Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.
EFF with 88 partners
The organizer of EFF is the Silesian Development Fund. In turn, the Forum’s partners included a total of 88 entities, including: Katowice Special Economic Zone, Upper Silesian Tauron Fund, Koleje Śląskie, BGK, Totalizator Sportowy, Legendia, Ekoenergia, Górnośląskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów, KGHM, Grupa Żywiec, PARP, Węglokoks and the Silesian Regional Guarantee Fund, which specializes in granting guarantees to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Silesian Voivodeship.
The future belongs to synergy
The immediate future of the region is a challenge that requires an unprecedented synergy of state administration, local government, business representatives and non-governmental organizations. – A new industrial revolution is ahead of us, which will change the paradigm of the region towards the center of innovative technologies, creating new production segments and transforming the social perception of Silesia through industry-specific exclusions. We will be at the European Forum of the Future to exchange experiences, jointly plan key changes and shifts in future trends and declare full support for every action that will strengthen the position of our voivodeship not only in Poland, but throughout the European Union – says Henryk Drob, President of Górnośląski Waterworks Enterprises.
Presence at the Forum is a natural consequence of the strategy of Ekoenergia Silesia S.A., which assumes active participation in every event affecting the future of the Silesian Voivodeship. – Participation in the Forum is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and establish and consolidate business relationships – Marcin Kozik, president of Ekoenergia Silesia S.A., encourages participation in EFF. A company belonging to the GPW S.A. capital group. was established to create favorable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship, including activities for the development of the Silesian Voivodeship and increasing the competitiveness of its economy, preparing enterprises and business environment structures for international cooperation, adapting the offers of small and medium-sized enterprises from Silesia to market requirements and facilitating their access to modern, ecological production technologies and modern management methods.
Support for the expansion of Silesian companies
The competitiveness of Silesian companies is also strengthened by the Upper Silesian Fund, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, and during the European Future Forum it will host the panel “Export as an opportunity for development and transformation of enterprises”. – The Upper Silesian Fund is not only loans, financial aid and development services, but also supporting the foreign expansion of Silesian enterprises through the implementation of InterSilesia and Global Silesia projects – says Jacek Miketa, vice president of the Upper Silesian Fund. – The InterSilesia project is knowledge and free services for enterprises from the SME sector running or planning to start exporting. Its goal is to strengthen and develop the processes of internationalization of enterprises, increase knowledge in the field of internationalization, as well as economic promotion of the region on the international arena. Economic promotion of the Silesian Voivodeship and favorable conditions for investment and export are the main goals of the Global Silesia project – explains Jacek Miketa.
Inspire and create solutions that connect
The European Future Forum is also created by entities from outside Silesia, including BGK bank, which in September announced its strategy for the years 2021-2025. Our new strategy is the result of a thorough analysis of social and economic changes
