Initiative of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship

– I believe that the European Future Forum will be an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and create solutions. The Silesian Voivodeship, as the European Region of Entrepreneurship, sets itself ambitious goals in the field of economy and modern technologies. We look boldly to the future as we prepare for transformation. We are facing challenges that will define our place in the changing global reality. Decisions on the liquidation of the mining industry mean that we are faced with the need to redefine the region’s economy. We want Silesia to be one of the leaders of these changes – comments Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship.

EFF with 88 partners

The organizer of EFF is the Silesian Development Fund. In turn, the Forum’s partners included a total of 88 entities, including: Katowice Special Economic Zone, Upper Silesian Tauron Fund, Koleje Śląskie, BGK, Totalizator Sportowy, Legendia, Ekoenergia, Górnośląskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów, KGHM, Grupa Żywiec, PARP, Węglokoks and the Silesian Regional Guarantee Fund, which specializes in granting guarantees to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Silesian Voivodeship.

The future belongs to synergy

The immediate future of the region is a challenge that requires an unprecedented synergy of state administration, local government, business representatives and non-governmental organizations. – A new industrial revolution is ahead of us, which will change the paradigm of the region towards the center of innovative technologies, creating new production segments and transforming the social perception of Silesia through industry-specific exclusions. We will be at the European Forum of the Future to exchange experiences, jointly plan key changes and shifts in future trends and declare full support for every action that will strengthen the position of our voivodeship not only in Poland, but throughout the European Union – says Henryk Drob, President of Górnośląski Waterworks Enterprises.

Presence at the Forum is a natural consequence of the strategy of Ekoenergia Silesia S.A., which assumes active participation in every event affecting the future of the Silesian Voivodeship. – Participation in the Forum is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and establish and consolidate business relationships – Marcin Kozik, president of Ekoenergia Silesia S.A., encourages participation in EFF. Support for the expansion of Silesian companies

The competitiveness of Silesian companies is also strengthened by the Upper Silesian Fund, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, and during the European Future Forum it will host the panel “Export as an opportunity for development and transformation of enterprises”. – The Upper Silesian Fund is not only loans, financial aid and development services, but also supporting the foreign expansion of Silesian enterprises through the implementation of InterSilesia and Global Silesia projects – says Jacek Miketa, vice president of the Upper Silesian Fund. – The InterSilesia project is knowledge and free services for enterprises from the SME sector running or planning to start exporting. Its goal is to strengthen and develop the processes of internationalization of enterprises, increase knowledge in the field of internationalization, as well as economic promotion of the region on the international arena. Economic promotion of the Silesian Voivodeship and favorable conditions for investment and export are the main goals of the Global Silesia project – explains Jacek Miketa.

Zoriana Czajkowska from the Upper Silesian Fund S.A. about support for business and entry into international markets

Export. A magic word that opens the way to international markets for many Silesian entrepreneurs. However, in order to be able to take full advantage of these opportunities, professional support is often necessary, and such is provided by the Strategic Partner of our event, Upper Silesian Fund S.A.

These possibilities are discussed in the next episode of #EFPTV by the Director of the Foreign Cooperation Department at Upper Silesian Fund S.A. – Zoriana Czajkowska.

We would like to remind you that representatives of our Partner will lead a special thematic panel during the Forum: Internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises as the next stage of economic development of regions, which will start on the 2nd EFF day, on October 7 at 11:45 in the conference space at the stadium.

We invite you to watch the video.

Grupa Żywiec: Business development with respect for the community and the natural environment

Climate change brings with it risks to people’s health and the way they live and spend their free time, as well as risks related to the availability and prices of raw materials. Magdalena Brzezińska, corporate director of Grupa Żywiec, says how important it is for Grupa Żywiec to act in harmony with the natural environment.

Our responsibility is to develop business with respect for the community and the natural environment, so as to counteract negative climate changes. We want to minimize our impact on the climate, above all to reduce CO2 emissions, which are responsible for the increase in temperature around the world.

That is why our path of climate neutrality begins with ourselves and with Żywiec, the place where our company was founded. Currently, 100% of the electricity used to brew our beer comes from renewable sources. By 2030, we will reduce CO2 emissions in beer production by 70% using green heat.

Growing prices of black energy-based fuels, as well as rising prices of CO2 emission permits, make enterprises more and more willing to invest where green energy is available. Investments – public and private – in renewable energy sources will increasingly affect the competitiveness of Polish and Silesian entrepreneurs in the European Union.

The European Future Forum is a place for us to talk about these challenges with representatives of public administration, business and the world of science.

Drones will fly over the arena of the European Future Forum on October 8

* the first part from 10:55 am to 11:10 am

* the second part from 12:00 to 12:20

Drones will also be devoted to two special panels during our event:

First: Drones in an urbanized space. The importance of the sector for cities, metropolises and regions. The panel will discuss the drone traffic management system, national and European regulations, research projects and new solutions in the field of drone use in urban space.

Second: Drones as a new branch of the aviation industry. It will be an overview of the sector’s development in Poland and Europe. New projects, technologies, examples of international and intersectoral cooperation.
